Nintendo 3DS reports that console sales for the US have fallen not only for Nintendo, but for Microsoft and Sony as well. Could it be caused by gamers waiting for the new handheld rather than buying a new DS, by people just being conservative during these hard times, or just by market saturation?

It is also mentioned that, with the 3DS on the horizon, Nintendo will probably get such a big boost in sales that it should be enough to get them out of their slump. With all the other 3D products on the verge of being developed, the sooner it is released the better.
