Reports are out that GAME stores are calling customers who pre-ordered the 3DS to tell them the available Day-1 launch titles for the system. There are the 11 titles being mentioned:

  • Nintendogs + Cats (3 versions)
  • Super Monkey Ball 3D
  • Asphault 3D
  • Lego Star Wars 3: The Clone Wars
  • Super Street Fighter IV 3D
  • Rayman 3D
  • Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars
  • Splinter Cell
  • Pro Evolution Soccer

Not a bad list overall in terms of variety. Nintendogs + Cats and Super Monkey Ball 3D will appeal to the casual crowd. For the mature crowd there’s Ghost Recon and Splinter Cell. And then we have a fighter, a racing game, a couple of platformers, and a sports title.

What’s curious is the lack of first-party titles. Where’s Zelda, Kid Icarus, or Pilotwings? Hopefully those will be out in the weeks following. Nintendo shouldn’t wait too long before bringing out more of their own published titles to highlight the best of what the system can do.

Also keep in mind that this list is not confirmed by any means, nor do we have a list of North American launch titles at this point.

We’ll file this under Rumor for now, but a listing for Pikmin 3DS has popped up on the UK etailer site Given that they peg the release date for March 18, 2011, I’d say they are speculating on this one for the time being.

We’ll file this under rumor for now, but a picture has popped up from a supposed GameStop list showing some 3DS release dates and prices. The earliest release date is March 15, while the others are targeted for June. Prices are listed between $29.99 and $49.99. Whether some 3DS games will actually retail for as much as $49.99 is to be seen.

A listing on the GameStation website shows a Batman game coming for the Nintendo 3DS. No other mention has been made of this game elsewhere, so we’ll file this one under Rumor for now.

Rumor has it, according to 3DS Buzz, that journalist, Paul Gale, has heard from reliable sources that Castlemania will be heading to the Nintendo 3DS.

Game producer, Koji Igarashi, said that there were a few titles he was producing for the 3DS. It was also revealed that artists and modelers were working on the next instalment of the game which is for the 3DS.

The new handheld’s cameras were also a topic of interest. It is expected that it will help in motion control.

On his website Paul Gale Network, Paul Gale gave us some insight to the characters coming to Super Street Fighter IV, 3DS version. It will definitely have all characters including Evil Ryu and Shin Akuma, and there is a hint that there could be another new character in the game.

According to one of my friends within Capcom, it’s the 3DS version of Super Street Fighter IV that will definitely have all characters in it, since that game is still in development. My source also revealed to me that Capcom may even include one new character in SSF4:3DE. Lips are tight in regards to whether the new character (if included) will be from an existing Street Fighter game or new altogether for the series. For now, here’s to seeing some Evil Ryu and Shin Akuma in action.

Reported on GamingBits, you can now pre-order your Nintendo 3DS at GameStop Canada and EB Games in Canada. Below is a pre-order list from one of the GameStop stores.  It shows the release date to be March 20, 2011 and selling at a price of $299.99.

However, gamers are encouraged to check with the stores for confirmation – no news is concrete unless it actually comes from Nintendo. This news is not something we should take as fact just yet.

Nintendo 3DS Blog reports that a tweet from the Japanese publication, Nikkei, pinpoints the start time for the Nintendo press conference on September 29 as being 2pm Japanese Standard Time. There has been much speculation about this in the past but this seems to be the most concrete evidence yet.
