I think we’ve all known for quite some time that the chances of the 3DS releasing in 2010 are slim to none. Further proof comes in the form of a recent announcement by Nintendo of their upcoming release dates. Absent from that list? Any mention of the 3DS.

In the announcement posted on their website, Nintendo lists the release dates for games right up until late November.  Games such as Donkey Kong Country Returns for the Wii on November 21, and Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem! for the DS on November 14. With dates this late in the year, there’s not much chance they’d let the 3DS take the spotlight off of their holiday lineup.

I’m betting they want to finish the year on the strength of the software for their current systems, and then shift their focus to the 3DS for 2011.
