When Nintendo launched the Wii back in 2006, the groundbreaking motion-controlled system was so popular that it was sold out in many territories for years. With the 3DS about to take another technological leap forward with glasses-free 3D, Nintendo is looking to avoid a repeat of the system shortages that plagued the Wii.

In an interview about shipment numbers for the Nintendo 3DS, company President Satoru Iwata was quoted as saying, “It’s important that we ensure a continuous supply”. Let’s hope they follow through on this!
