CVG reported that Nintendo has trademarked CrossPass, CrossPass Network, CrossPass Mode, and CrossPass Connection, which are suspected to be linked to the tag mode feature of the Nintendo 3DS that allows data exchange. This allows automatic swapping of game data as players pass each other, even if they aren’t playing that particular game.

Other trademarks were 3D Paddleball, 3D Challenge, 3D Hopper and Target Shooting. These could be games or demos but obviously related to the new handheld.
