Now that we’re starting to see some photos of the final 3DS design, it looks like Nintendo was telling the truth when they said the demo system’s design was near final back in August. Here’s a quick comparison between the most recent shot of the 3DS – dubbed ‘Final’ – and the previously released press photo – dubbed ‘Prototype’.

The main difference I’m seeing is in the Slide Pad. Obviously the color is now grey, rather than matching the color of the system. However it also looks slightly smaller in the final design and is quite possibly made of a completely different material. Could it be a type of rubber to increase the grip on the pad?
