If you’re curious about the Augmented Reality (or AR) games that will come with the Nintendo 3DS, check out these quick impressions.

Here’s an excerpt:

Setting up the game works by placing an AR card onto a flat surface, and using the two back cameras, you spend a minute trying to line up the card at a perfect 45 degree angle. From here the camera takes a snapshot, and the rest unfolds in front of your very eyes. It starts off as a humble moving yellow box with eyes. You can move the 3DS around and press A to shoot the box with your reticule.
