CVG reports that Michael Pachter, industry analyst, predicts that the Nintendo 3DS could cost more than previously predicted. He said, “Due to the unique 3DS experience previewed by Nintendo at E3 this year, we believe Nintendo will be able to sell millions of units even at a price of upwards of $250.” If this is so, game enthusiasts will be very disappointed considering Nintendo has been pretty good at keeping prices reasonable.

He also added, “From a software perspective, we believe Nintendo will be able to increase DS software prices, from a blended average of around $25 today to over $29 next year.” Considering the exceptional features of this new system, Nintendo could very well demand higher prices, but hopefully they will sell at a cost that will keep fans happy.
